How to become associated

    Adhesion Criteria

    Admission to AESA implies that the sum of the scores of each entity totals 9 (nine) points, at least. See the set of elements available for scoring in the table below:

    Updated subscription to the Azores sustainability booklet 3 points
    Annual sustainability report 3 points
    Strategy / Sustainability Management Plan or similar 3 points
    Mechanism for reporting sustainability indicators 3 points
    Training in management and leadership in sustainability (min. 30 hours) 3 points
    Sustainability certification with international standards and third-party verification 3 points
    ISO Certifications * *to be evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the Management and Advisory Board according to objective criteria (defined in the following table)

    The evaluation of other elements that demonstrate the company's commitment to sustainability but that are not identified in the admissions table, follow the following objective scoring criteria:

    Is it a renewable and verifiable commitment? 0,5 points
    Does it contribute to pollution prevention and control? ¹ 0,5 points
    Does it contribute to mitigating and/or adapting to climate change? ¹ 0,5 points
    Does it contribute to the sustainable use and protection of water and marine resources? 0,5 points
    Does it contribute to the protection and/or restoration of biodiversity and ecosystems? ¹ 0,5 points
    Does it add social value and/or to the local community? ² 0,5 points
